All teas come from the Camellia sinesis plant. Black tea is the most processed of the tea varieties. It is rich in antioxidants and is the second most commonly ingested beverage worldwide; it is second only to water. After the top leaves and bud are plucked from the plant, they undergo a process of withering to reduce moisture, rolling to activate enzymes, and firing to stop the resulting oxidation.
Brewing Directions: Black tea is brewed using freshly boiled water. Allow the teabag to steep at least 3 1/2 to 4 minutes so that the hot water can fully infuse the leaf and release the flavor.
