Coffee Story:

This organic El Salvador coffee from the Santa Adelaida coffee co-op in southwest El Salvador is one of many delicious coffees coming out of this tiny, war ravaged country. The civil war ended in 1992 and the coffee plantations have had a chance to recover and are now producing classic, sweet, well balanced coffee that is becoming recognized throughout the world. The farm was once a large family-owned finca that was sold to the families working the farm during agrarian reform in 1982.

The bourbon and paca varieties grown by the 50 families of the Santa Adelaida co-op are heirloom coffees known for their citrus acidity balanced with a smooth, sweet flavor of honey and melon.

Our dark roast version of this coffee enhances the sweetness of the coffee, smooths out the mild acidity, and brings out a nice chocolate finish.
