COE Nicaragua 15 de Septiembre 2009
Nicaragua produces some of the sweetest coffees of the world and the championship coffees from the Cup of Excellence competition are the pick of the crop. Our award winning coffee, named 15 de Septiembre after the co-op of that name, was grown By Jose Ramon Miranda in the Madriz region of Nicaragua. This organically certified coffee is a blend of Caturra and Bourbon varieties, grown at 4100 feet and is processed using the washed method. Jose Ramon has been working his farm for over 20 years and his attention to detail has produced a champion coffee. Sweet cocoa flavors with a touch of honey characterize this well balance coffee. Hints of apple and cherry in the aroma.

Colombian
Colombian San Augustin--This micro-lot coffee is typical of the possibilities that exist in differentiating the many offerings from Colombia. The coffee comes from a small growers group in the Huila region of Southern Colombia. Grown in the shadows of the Andes from 4400 to 6000 ft the Caturra/Colombia variety has the tangy, snappy acidity that the best Colombian coffee has to offer along with a very well balanced sweet lightness. Great stand alone coffee. The aromatics are clean, fresh with a hint of caramel. The Huila region is one of Colombia's best known regions. The coffee is grown in a valley with towering Andes mountains rising on either side and even higher mountains to the south leading to Equador. The extreme elevation contributes to the density of the coffee that in turn translates into the bright liveliness of the cup. If you have a Juan Valdez poster on your wall at home this is the coffee for you. Available in light and dark roasts.
